George Donley's Obituary
George Louis Donley, age 81 of Bolivar, MO passed away at 9:32 AM Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar after a sudden illness. George was born on September 2, 1928 in Urbana, MO the son of Merritt Eldon Donley and Mary Anna (Thomas) Donley . He was employed for 31 years at the Armco Steel Manufacturing Co. in Kansas City, MO as a Ball Machine Operator. After his retirement he and his wife Nola moved to Bolivar and have lived here for the past 20 years. He was a U. S. Army Veteran from 1946-1948. George was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and his wife Nola in 2003. Surviving is his daughter, Pamela of the home, several nieces and nephews, including nephews, Elvin Ray Yoast, Billy Lee Yoast, John Yoast, Roger Yoast, Gene Donley, Larry Donley, Leon Donley, Loren Donley, David Yoast, Roger Ford; Nieces, Glenda Hayes, Christine Ford, Mary Frazier, Linda Nelson, Judy Pratt, Linda Yoast, Alma Donley and Pat Donley. Also an ex-sister-in-law, Kathryn Spencer. Before his health declined, George liked to bowl for his company and fishing with his friends. A visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral Services starting at 10:00 AM in the Chapel with Bro. Jack Sawyers officiating. Musical selections will be “In The Garden”. “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace”. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Casketbearers will be Gene Donley, Larry Donley, Leon Donley, Gary Henderson, Jerald Henderson, Mike Dixon, Bill Yoast and Tuffy Yoast.
