George Dyer's Obituary
George Iler Dyer, age 73, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Tuesday morning, September 22, 2009 at Citizen’s Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri. He was born on October 31, 1935 in Hornbeck, Tennessee to Walter Elvin Dyer and Lillian Marie Allen Dyer. He was a laborer in manufacturing for many years and served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957, serving in Japan in the Military Police. George was active in the Salvation Army for many years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and in later years he enjoyed cross stitching until he became incapacitated. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Elvin Dyer. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, Missouri. Military Honors will be provided by the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or to World Hunger through any Southern Baptist Church, and would be greatly appreciated.
