George Goodlow Spears (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. George Goodlow “Oakie” Spears, age 93, of Humansville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Northwood Hills Care Center in Humansville, Missouri.
He was born December 17, 1917 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the son of William “Willie” Spears and Mae (Gentry) Spears. His life’s work was as an operating engineer working as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Thelma L. Burrell Spears, his son; Billy Ray Spears, Sr., three brothers, and two sisters.
George is survived by his two daughters; Thelma LaVonne Lyons of Springfield, Missouri, Norma Murphree of Bolivar, Missouri, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Rondo Cemetery in Rondo, Missouri with Chaplain James O. Friend officiating. Arrangement are under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, Missouri. No visitation will be held. Honorary Casketbearers will be Travis Spears, Billy Spears, Jr., John Murphree, Zachary Spears and Oren Spears.
