George Jarman's Obituary
George Wesley Jarman, age 74, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. He was born September 15,1935 in Polk County, Moissouri to Claude Jarman and Gladys Mary Felthoff Jarman. He was saved as a young man at the age of 12 in a revival meeting in Ohio. George spent two years in the army, stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Some of his fondest memories were of his many trips to Kiowa, Kansas where he would work the wheat harvest and spend time with his uncle Raymond Felthoff and many close friends. He would travel back to Kiowa several times, even taking his Grandson Jaden to watch the harvest. George married Ina Fae Peterson and lived in Kansas City where he worked as a foreman at Certainteed Fiberglass for 25 years, Lake City army ammunition plant, and later Dewey Freight where he retired in 1990. George had two sons Jeff and Wes, three grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, and Jaden-- who were the pride and joy of his life. He would call daily to check on my babies. George had many coffee drinking friends through the years. He later said he had two buddies, his coon dog Spur and good friend bubba, Raymond Scott. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Gladys Jarman, brother John Jarman , sister Le Etta Farmer, and wife Ina Fae Jarman. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Jarman and his wife Kristy of Gladstone, Missouri, Wesley Jarman and his friend Sherri of Kansas City, Missouri, his sister Patricia Ankrom and her husband Carroll “Red“ of Bolivar, Missouri, brother Albert Drake Jr., and his wife Mary of St. Louis, Missouri, brother Gary Drake and his wife Janet of Halfway, Missouri, three grandchildren Jennifer, Erin, and Jaden Jarman. George made a friend everywhere he went, he will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Rev. Carroll “Red” Ankrom and Rev. Mike Ankrom officiating. Musical selections will be “Amazing Grace”, “When We All Get To Heaven” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery south of Halfway, Missouri with Military Honors provided by the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Monday evening at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Pallbearers will be Randy Ankrom, Mike Ankrom, John Ankrom, Josh Drake, Matt Drake, Riley Ankrom, Brian Drake and David Robinson.
