George Jones' Obituary
George Irvin Jones, age 82, of Morrisville, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 at his home in Morrisville, Missouri. He was born September 13, 1927 in Sidney, Montana to Irvin George Jones and Hazel Belle (Jones) Jones. On June 8, 1950 he married Rubie Ballentyne in Fairview, Montana. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United states Army from 1951-1953. George was a true cowboy and sheep herder. He raised pinto quarter horses and brashear curly cows, rode in and ran rodeos and also ran a filling station. He authorized and published magazine articles on brashear curly cattle. He was of the Baha’i faith for 41 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lyle Jones of Montana, Kermit Jones of Oregon, two infant brothers and a great granddaughter, Madeline Bumgarner. George is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rubie Jones of the home, one daughter, Violet Stillions and her husband Ed of Morrisville, Missouri, two granddaughters, Jodie Garton and her husband Mark of Springfield, Missouri, Ginger Bumgarner and her husband Jeff of Morrisville, Missouri, six great grandchildren, Meleah, Zachary, Katie, Johnathon, Joshua and Jacob, three brothers, Garrett Jones and his wife Laura Mae of Independence, Missouri, Melvin Jones and his wife Val of Coos Bay, Oregon, Richard Jones and his wife Evodia of Loving, New Mexico. Graveside services will be held at 11:30am, Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Enon Cemetery in Wishart, Missouri using a horse drawn hearse and a military flag presentation ceremony. No visitation will be held. Pallbearers will be Mark Garton, Ed Stillions, Zachary Garton, Johnathon Bumgarner, Joshua Bumgarner, and Jeff Bumgarner.
