George Leon Blanton (Lebanon)'s Obituary
George Leon Blanton, son of Clifton L. and Ethel Margaret Ealy Blanton, was born October 2, 1938, in Bolivar, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, June 2, 2012, in his sister’s home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, and eight months.
On December 10, 1983, he was united in marriage to LaVonne Louise Casner, and they shared twenty-eight years before her passing on March 9, 2012.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Tom and Ronnie Blanton.
George is survived by a brother, Burt Blanton, and his wife, Carol, of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Juanita Anderson, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and graduated from Lebanon High School. He lived most of his adult years in the Lebanon area, and worked as a truck driver for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for over thirty years. He had been employed by Carmeco, Inc. for the last several years.
He was a “jack-of-all-trades” and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed raising a garden each year, and also was an avid reader. He had a kind heart and liked helping others.
George was a loving brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
