George W. Robertson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
George Wesley Robertson, 75, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospice Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
George was born on December 16, 1938, on a farm near Bolivar, Missouri, to Harlan and Mayme Robertson. He graduated from Bolivar High School in 1956 and went on to graduate from college at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. From there he attended Drury University where he received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Administration. George taught music in Humansville and Bolivar and taught art in Salem, Missouri. He moved to Kansas City and worked at Jenny Lee Gifts and Valentine Video. George loved to work in the yard and taking pictures of his flowers, old and unusual buildings, and family.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Mayme Robertson.
He is survived by one brother, Joe Robertson and his wife Betty of Belton, Missouri; two nephews and one niece, Mark Robertson and his wife Becky of Lincoln Nebraska, Kevin Robertson and his wife Pattie of Kansas City, Missouri, and Carol Miederhoff and her husband Ray of Belton, Missouri; Seven great nephews and nieces, Adam and Eric Robertson from Kansas City, Missouri, Maggie and Hannah Robertson of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Amber, Gus, and Harlan Miederhoff of Belton, Missouri; a special friend, Alan Lorenz of Kansas City, Missouri, and George’s Boston Terrier, Vasco; many Buresh family, cousins, and a host of friends.
