George Robertson (Camdenton)'s Obituary
George Garland “Corky” Robertson, 78, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 27, 2025. Known for his warm laugh and magnetic presence, George will always be remembered as a beloved grandfather, father, brother, and friend who lived life with honesty, humor, and a deep love for those around him.
Born on May 14, 1947, in Sedalia, Missouri, George was the son of George and Opal Robertson. Growing up in a large family, he shared a special bond with his siblings—Cheryl Billingsley, Linda Schuster, and Janie Robertson, as well as his late brother, Jerry Robertson, and sister, Darlene Robertson. His loyalty to family was unwavering, and he carried this devotion throughout his life.
After enlisting in the United States Navy, George proudly served his country aboard the USS Princeton during the Vietnam War. His years of service also took him across the globe, shaping his adventurous spirit and love for travel. After his time in the military, George found a second calling on the open road, spending much of his life as a truck driver, traversing the highways and backroads of America.
George’s passions included fishing, long car rides, and exploring new places—simple joys that reflected his down-to-earth nature. Those who knew him best will never forget his sense of humor. A true jokester, George had a way of lighting up a room and bringing smiles to every gathering. Above all, he was a true hustler, dependable, and a man who always made sure to care for his loved ones.
George is survived by his son, Robby Robertson, his granddaughter Hannah Robertson, his grandson Carter Robertson and daughter, Stephanie Robertson, grandson Darrick Wilson, as well as his sisters Cheryl, Linda, and Janie. He leaves behind countless cherished memories for family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date at Camdenton Assembly of God. George’s laughter always filled a room, and his memory will live on in the many lives he touched. Say not in grief he is no more, but in thankfulness that he was. – Hebrew Proverb
