George Shuler's Obituary
George Marshall ?Marsh? Shuler, age 77, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Thursday morning, November 18, 2010, from a sudden heart attack, on the job at the 66 Auto Auction in Springfield, Missouri . He was born September 11, 1933 in Aldrich, Missouri to George Lindsay Shuler and Lucile (Davis) Shuler.
He served in the United States Army from December 1953 to September 1955. He was a graduate of Morrisville High School in 1951.
Marsh married Peggy Layman on March 20, 1982 in Bolivar, Missouri.
He was a electrician and retired officially retired in 1989. He has worked as a driver for the 66 Auto Auction in Springfield, Missouri the past six years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Bolivar, Missouri. He enjoyed sports, the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, traveling in his RV around the United States and reading the past few years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kelton Shuler and Bill Shuler.
Marsh is survived by his wife, Peggy Shuler of the home, son, Paul David Shuler and his wife Carol of Stillwater, Oklahoma, stepson, Tony Joseph Newcomb of Bolivar, Missouri, three stepdaughters, Teresa Hahn and her husband Jim of Omaha, Nebraska, Rebecca Hyder and her husband Randy of Marshfield, Missouri, Cristy Smothers of Bolivar, Missouri, two sisters, Elizabeth Bond and her husband Junior of Springfield, Missouri, Linda Gann of Springfield, Missouri, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00am, Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Jerry Book officiating. Musical selections will be ?How Great Thou Art? by Mike Stephens with Jobeth Maas playing the piano and ?Precious Memories? being sung by Nicole Hyder. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00pm Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Adam Shuler, Logan Smothers, Rick Shuler, John Shuler, Randy Hyder, Tom Layman, Don Hunt and Joe Lovett.
