GeorgeAnna Spiegel (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mrs. Georgeanna Elizabeth Spiegel, age 65, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Thursday evening, January 27, 2011 at her home in Bolivar after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born November 13, 1945 in Springfield, Missouri to George Otis Joseph Sisk and Bonnie Belle Mauldin.
Georgeanna graduated from Central High School in May of 1963. On August 3, 1963 she married Earl Walter Spiegel in Boone County, Arkansas.
Georgeanna worked for Baker Management for 17 years, was a daycare provider for 9 years and also worked as an Office Assistant. She was a huge advocate for the YMCA coming to Bolivar and served on the first YMCA board. Georgeanna was the Treasurer for the Summer Sports Program and ran the concession stand for many years. She recieved an award from MSHSAA for extraordinary service to the Interscholastic Activities Program in 1995. Her favorite past time was to attend a sporting event for her kids and then her grandkids events. She was a Nana to many children. She was saved as a teenager and baptized in 1979, and was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bolivar, Missouri. She was involved in the transition of PTA to PTO and served as President for ten years. Georgeanna was involved in Relay for Life for five plus years and was an avid supporter for Bolivar businesses. Georgeanna served as a Bolivar Booster Club officer and member. She would send yearly reminders for birthdays and if you were lucky you would get a personal birthday song, sung by Georgeanna herself. She loved to decorate for every holiday, especially Christmas. She loved to take family vacations: camping in her earlier years, she truly enjoyed spending vacation time with her family in Branson. She loved flowers and gardening, and most importantly she loved being with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Gary Sisk and a special cousin, Sally Walters.
Georgeanna is survived by her husband, Earl W. Spiegel of the home, one son, Michael Spiegel and his wife Miranda of Dunnegan, Missouri, two daughters, Michelle Neal and her husband Artie of Bolivar, Missouri, Melissa Burks and her husband Robert of Bolivar, Missouri and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Monday, January 31, 2011 at the First Assembly Of God Church in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Sharon Spiegel and Reverend Gary Ankrom officiating under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar. A visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00pm, Sunday afternoon at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri.
