Georgia Rector (Lebanon)'s Obituary

Georgia Ann Rector, daughter of Benjamin Clifford and Ressie May Chastain Long, was born November 27, 1948, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, eight months, and four days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Charles Clifford Long; and a sister, Sherry Lynn Sheets.
Georgia is survived by a daughter, Ashley Rector, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Dwyane Rector, of Lebanon, Missouri; a granddaughter, Jessica Baker, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Barbara Nutter, and her husband Billy, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Judy Mundt, and her husband, Jack, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Laclede County, and lived most of her life in or near Lebanon. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, Georgia also worked as a seamstress for the H. D. Lee Company for a number of years.
Georgia had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Garfield Avenue Church of God.
In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, fishing, and working in her garden, where she grew many beautiful flowers. She liked babysitting and was affectionately called “Grandma” by the children under her care. She also greatly enjoyed her dog, “Spike”. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her granddaughter.
Georgia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
