Gerald D. Rector's Obituary
Gerald Dean Rector, son of Paul Gene and Ora Ellen Piercy Rector, was born December 4, 1943, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, June 3, 2007, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years, five months, and twenty-nine days. On April 13, 1965, he was united in marriage to Katherine Sue “Kay” Coleman, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Ab and Anna Piercy; and his paternal grandparents, Amos and Maude Rector. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Kay, of the home; a daughter, Deana Whitter, and her companion, Sonya Schubbe, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Jerry Rector, and his companion, Leza Woody, and Dana Rector, and his fiancée, Jessica Blankenship, all of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Mandy, Brandy, Justin, Michael, Kayla, Emily, Shawni, and Lauren; a great-grandchild, Cade; two brothers, Don Rector, and his wife, Minnie, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Kenny Rector, and his wife, Sandy, of Joplin, Missouri; three sisters, Shirley Kenfield, Jo Ann Bilyeu, and Liz Mulligan, and her husband, Clifford, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1963. After he and Kay were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. Gerald worked as a production supervisor at Bass Tracker for several years before his accident. Gerald had made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized at Hillcrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities, before the accident, were hunting and fishing. He liked talking on the Citizens Band radio where his handle was “Inspector”. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
