I had Mrs. Butcher for 4th grade at Hillcrest Elementary. I have fond memories of praying before lunch everyday and saying the pledge of allegiance. We also sang you are my sunshine quite often. She was a loving yet stern teacher and I have a high degree of respect for her as a teacher, friend, and fellow Christian. She will be missed here but we will see her again someday....
Mrs. Butcher was truly my favorite teacher. I remember going into forth grade at Hillcrest elementary being scared to have her as a teacher (that had to be about 1979). There was nothing to be afraid of. I loved her. She made such an impression. Terrific lady!
Tho I never had Mes Butcher(I had Mrs Rockhill, her First Grade co-hort right across the Hall) I new her quite well. She made a positive impression since we often combined classes for field trips, special studies and joint learning. Her picture here is exactly as I remember her. May God bless Mrs Butcher...and I am sure He already has!
