Gerry Higgins (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Gerry Lee Higgins, son of Phillip and Diana Grimes Higgins, was born May 31, 1966, in Columbia, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, August 23, 2020, in Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-four years, two months, and twenty-three days.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Lloyd Higgins.
Gerry is survived by two sons, Dylan Higgins and Anthony Higgins, both of Lebanon, Missouri; his mother, Diana Jones, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Leonard James, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Derrick Higgins, of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Nicola Freeman, of Lebanon, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Helen Stotts, of Rossville, Georgia, James and Kelly Grimes, of Lebanon, Missouri, Wanda and Bob Neher, of Aurora, Colorado, Pamela and Victor Hudson, of Conway, Missouri, John and Beverly Frederick, of Martinville, Indiana, Wilfred Grimes, of Lebanon, Missouri, Lester Grimes, of Conway, Missouri, Kenny Joe and Misty Grimes, of Lebanon, Missouri, Ronnie and Dottie Jones, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Marsha Hazel, of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School. He then attended aviation mechanic school in Kansas City, Missouri. He worked as an aviation mechanic until he became disabled.
He was quite the “gamer” and enjoyed playing all kinds of video games. He also liked working puzzles, watching television westerns and movies, and reading. He centered his life around his sons which he loved with all his heart.
Gerry was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
