Glena Rasmussen (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Glena Helen Rasmussen, daughter of Elbert and Thelma Crumley Shull, was born October 7, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life in her home on November 17, 2013 near Mansfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, one month and ten days.
On July 6, 1945 she was united in marriage to George C. Rasmussen and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, her daughters, Kris Smith Krider and Kelly Brazeal, and a brother, Bill Shull.
Glena is survived by a son-in-law, Charlie Krider of Mansfield, Missouri; three grandsons, Scott Smith and his wife, Melissa of Rogersville, Missouri, Tim Brazeal and his wife, Rochelle, and Tom Brazeal and his wife Candace all of Mansfield, Missouri; a granddaughter, Heather Dennis of Mansfield, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Dalton, Conner, Grace, Hoyt and Bayli; two nephews, Tim and Jeff Shull; a niece, Jennifer Shull Darling and other Shull family members in the Beaverton, Oregon area; as well as many friends.
She was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri where she graduated from Ruhl Hartman High School. After she and George were married they moved to Mansfield in the mid 1940’s where they lived the rest of their lives.
Glena worked for many years at the MFA Feed store in Mansfield as a bookkeeper. After retiring from MFA, she helped in Kris’ flower shop for several years by again managing the accounts.
Glena had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a longtime member of the Mansfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was very active in church functions. She was also a longtime member of the P.E.O. where she was once honored as a Grand Matron.
In her spare time she enjoyed and excelled at cooking for her family and friends, gardening, canning, and was very meticulous about her sewing, crafts and flower garden.
Glena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We know she suffered greatly from the loss of George, Kris and Kelly, but now her heartaches are over. With her golden heart at rest, we can always find comfort in knowing that she is with those whom she loved and lost. We will always cherish the many wonderful memories we had when we were all together, and know that we will all be reunited in the end.
