Glenn 's Obituary
Glenna Alice Crocker, daughter of Melvin Andrew and Lucy Ella (Jennings) Stuart was born September 22, 1922 in Boss, Missouri. She departed this life, Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri at the age of eighty-seven years and four days. On September 13, 1941 she was united in marriage to Wallace R. Metzger and to this union four children were born. Wallace preceded her in death in June of 1973 and on December 29, 1973 she was married to Donald C. Crocker, who also preceded her in death in January of 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Johnny, Walter, and Clyde Stuart; and two sisters, Hazel Hogan and Lovey Stuart. Glenna is survived by one daughter, Glenda Jacobs and her husband, Herbert, of Foristell, Missouri; three sons, Floyd Metzger and his wife, Chick, of Fordland, Missouri, Davie Metzger and his wife, Susan, of Bethalto, Illinois, and Dannie Metzger and his wife, Karen, of Fordland, Missouri; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Nancy Wisdom and her husband, Denny, of Troy, Missouri; three step-sons, Sam Crocker and his wife, Kim, of Alton, Illinois, Bill Crocker, of Nixa, Missouri, and Doug Crocker, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She grew up in Bunker, Missouri and following her marriage to Wallace they moved to St. Louis to make their home and eventually moved back to Bunker where they lived until his passing. After her marriage to Donald, a minister, they moved to St. Louis where he was an Associate Pastor of the Russell Baptist Church. She was manager of The American Legion Fish Fry in Overland, Missouri for several years. They moved to the Fordland, Missouri area fourteen years ago. Glenna had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of the Russell Baptist Church in St. Louis. In her spare time she enjoyed square dancing, quilting, and fishing. She loved her family very much and cherished the time she spent with them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, step-mother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish all the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday September 30, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri. Burial will be in the Boss Cemetery in Boss, Missouri. Visitation is Tuesday evening 7-9:00pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
