Glenn Waldren's Obituary
Glenn Morris Waldren, son of William Eli and Lena Adams Waldren, was born June 13, 1924, in Polk County, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, June 14, 2009, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri, a day after celebrating his eighty-fifth birthday. On June 9, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Jewell D. Parrack and to this union four children were born. Together they shared sixty years until her passing on June 27, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and William Waldren. Survivors include two sons, Eugene Waldren and wife Patty of Camdenton, Missouri, and Dale Waldren and wife Sandy of Hayti, Missouri; two daughters, Carolyn Wolverton and husband Dean of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Connie Harrison of Camdenton, Missouri; nine grandsons; four granddaughters; twenty great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends. Glenn was raised in the Bolivar area and attended school there. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He was stationed in Southern France and Normandy where he was wounded in battle and received two purple hearts. After being honorably discharged, he and Jewell lived in Bolivar for a short time before making their home in Camdenton in 1951. He worked as a farmer and a carpenter. He made a profession of faith in Christ and at the time of his death was a member of Parrack Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Glenn served for many years as a Missionary Baptist Preacher and preached at many churches in the area. He loved the Lord and many came to salvation because of Glenn’s willingness to follow the Lord’s calling on his life. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish and anything that had to do with the outdoors. He was one of the best shots in Camden County. Glenn was a loving father, grandfather and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. He touched many lives during his time on earth and will be fondly remembered throughout the generations. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday June 17, 2009 at the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home Camdenton. Burial will be in Parrack Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday evening 6-8:00pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home Camdenton, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Parrack Grove Cemetery care fund. Donations may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
