Glenna G. Carvel (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Glenna Gay Carvel, daughter of Roy E. and Nacissia Chloe Morgan Green, was born August 17, 1935, near Roach, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, three months, and twenty-eight days.
On March 3, 1959, she was united in marriage to Ransom Clay Carvel, and to this union three daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ransom, on October 10, 2011; and two grandchildren, Gayla and Robbie Stover.
Glenna is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Burns, and her husband, Phil, Lisa Sheppard, and her husband, Chris, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Glenna Cress, of Conway, Missouri; a son, Randall Carvel, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Earl Mac Green, of Roach, Missouri, Roy M. Green, of Springfield, Missouri, and John Calvin Green, of Camdenton, Missouri; two sisters, June Percival, of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Linda Roofener, of Urbana, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Roach community, and graduated from Camdenton High School. She met her future husband, Ransom, while working in a restaurant in Camdenton, and soon after they were married. They made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Glenna was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
She liked cutting and using coupons and enjoyed going to auctions. She liked gardening, playing cards, and had enjoyed the days of C.B. radios. She loved animals of all kinds, particularly cats and enjoyed raising chickens and rabbits. She was an excellent cook and liked making special recipes for her family and friends. She never gave up and always encouraged others to persevere. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Glenna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she made for them during her eighty years.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
