Glenna Wilson's Obituary
Glenna Jean Wilson, daughter of Glenn and Mildred Lindsey Baltzley, was born August 14, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa. She departed this life Monday, July 21, 2008, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, eleven months, and seven days. On March 29, 1960, she was united in marriage to Farrell E. Wilson, and together they shared the last forty-eight years. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Clifford Dale Smith; six brothers; and three sisters. Jean is survived by her husband, Farrell, of the home; three daughters, Vicky Lerdahl, and her husband, Dareld, of Lebanon, Missouri, Jeannie Visnich, and her husband, John, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Rita Allison, and her husband, John, of Ridgeland, Mississippi; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Baltzley, of Hollister, Missouri; five sisters, Pat Lugenbeill, of Hollister, Missouri, Juanita Munson, of Forsythe, Missouri, Beverly Davis, and June Butler, both of Des Moines, Iowa, and Evelyn Heggie, of the State of California; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa and moved with her family to the Lebanon, Missouri area when she was a teenager. She then made her home in Kansas City, Missouri for almost thirty years before she and Farrell returned to Lebanon in 1995. Throughout her life, Jean was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family. Jean loved her Lord dearly, and attended Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church near Lebanon. She loved to sing, and as a youth in the late 1940’s, she even sang on the radio. In her spare time she enjoyed working with flowers, singing, and going to music shows. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For the last few years she bore her illness with great strength and grace. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be at 10:00A.M Thursday July 24, 2008. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening 7-8:30 P.M and are under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
