Gloria Haines (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Gloria June Haines, daughter of George Paxton and Annie Lee Massie Murphy, was born June 26, 1926, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She departed this life Saturday, August 20, 2016, in her daughter’s home, in Copperas Cove, Texas, at the age of ninety years, one month, and twenty-five days.
On November 9, 1943, she was united in marriage to Billie Joe Haines, and to this union two daughters and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janet Bove; and a son, Kenneth Haines.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Bill, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Pamela Crooks, of Copperas Cove, Texas; two sons, Bill Haines, and his wife, Dru, of Westphalia, Missouri, and Jim Haines, and his wife, Janice, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, including one special grandson, Thomas Michael O’Dell, who was raised by Bill and Gloria; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Louisiana and was raised in Liberty, Texas. After she and Bill were married, they made their home in Texas for several years before moving to Missouri in the 1960’s. The family eventually settled in Lebanon, Missouri. Throughout the years, Gloria was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. Gloria had lived the last few years with her daughter in Texas.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.
Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
