Goldie N. Walters (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Goldie Nadine Walters, daughter of Harry and Gertrude Jones Smith, was born May 16, 1926, in Willard, Kansas. She departed this life Thursday, November 14, 2013, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, five months, and twenty-eight days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Sylvia Jean Kunkle, and Patricia Eriksen; a son, Raymond Walters, Jr.; and a number of brothers and sisters.
Goldie is survived by three daughters, Barbara Dunker, and her husband, Harold, of Lebanon, Missouri, Frances Faye Weers, of Coal Camp, Missouri, and Freda Young, and her husband, Mark, of Independence, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Smith and Ernest Smith, both of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Maxine Smith, and Alice Smith, both of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and then made her home in Kansas City, Missouri. She was employed as a seamstress for forty years, and was a member of the Garment Workers Union.
She was a very quiet person who enjoyed her privacy. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a thoughtful, generous person who was always willing to help others.
Goldie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
