Gordon Foell's Obituary
Gordon D. Foell, son of Perry and Katheryn Walker Foell, was born October 31, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa. He departed this life Sunday, May 10, 2009, in St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, six months, and nine days. On February 11, 1993, he was united in marriage to Barbara A. Kimrey, and they shared the last sixteen years. He was preceded in death by his father; a grandson, Cheston Piercy; and a brother, Max Foell. Gordon is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; three daughters, Shell-a Vaughn, and her husband, James, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Sherr-e Piercy, and her husband, Steve, of Lebanon, Missouri, and April Nelson, and her husband, Matt of Billings, Missouri; three sons, Donovon Foell, and his wife, Margaret, Rocky Foell, and his wife, Carol, and Yancy Kevin Foell, and his wife, Tammy, all of Lebanon, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his mother, Katheryn Foell, of Mason City, Iowa; a brother, Wayne Foell, and his wife, Irma, of Mason City, Iowa; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Iowa and graduated from Nora Springs High School. He continued to make his home in Iowa, where he worked as a dairy farmer and began raising his family. He eventually moved to Illinois and continued to farm and raise horses. In 1976, he moved to the Lebanon, Missouri area. He first made his home near Falcon, Missouri, and then in the Phillipsburg area for the last 10 years. Gordon had established his own personal relationship with his Lord and Savior. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers. He was an easy person to visit with and once you met him, you instantly liked him. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gordon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Return to top
