Gordon Eugene Forrest (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Gordon Eugene Forrest was born May 5, 1947, in Modesto, California to the late Willard Gordon Forrest and Goldie (Hicks) Forrest. He graduated from Bolivar High School in 1966. He served in the Vietnam war from 1967 to 1968, where he received the purple heart and other medals. He was united in marriage to Helen (Short) Forrest on September 24, 1971, in Halfway, Missouri. To this union, Brian, Amanda, and Josh were born. He was saved at an early age. He later joined Halfway Missionary Baptist Church on June 25, 2023. He had a long-term profession as a tree trimmer. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying fishing, hunting, and nature. He loved his cats and dogs, and he never met a stranger. He was rarely ever seen without a smile on his face. He was a devoted husband and father that loved being with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Goldie, and his three brothers, Bobby, Mearl, and Alvin.
Gordon is survived by his wife Helen, his children, Brian, Amanda, and Josh. His sister, Reba and husband Mike Greer. His grandchildren, Joseph, Sarai, Rachel, Isaac, Ella, and Harper. Great-grandchildren, Khloe, Hudson, and Hunters. He is also survived by other relatives, family, and many dear friends.
Services for Gordon will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar starting at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, April 17, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Butler Funeral Home.
Memorial donation may be made to the Halfway Missionary Baptist Church.
