Grace 's Obituary
Grace Mary Ice, daughter of Allan Bertrand and Florence Marie Thorpe Holbrook, was born, July 3, 1951 in Traverse City, Michigan. She passed into eternity, Wednesday, August 22, 2007 into the glorious presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of fifty six years, one month and nineteen days. On May 9, 2003 in Lebanon, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Lonnie Dean Ice and together they shared past four years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Holbrook; a brother, Stephen Holbrook and a sister, Bethel Holbrook. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie of the home; her children, Leah Adkins and husband Ray of Orlando, Florida, Kyle Theobald and wife Linn of Springfield, Missouri, Kristen Balikes and husband Tom of Osage Beach, Missouri, Kurt Theobald and wife Jess and Nathan Theobald all of Springfield, Missouri; a step-daughter, Whitney Ice of Linn Creek, Missouri; four grandchildren, Lance, Raiah, Titus and Natalie; her father, Allan Holbrook of Traverse City, Michigan; her siblings, Mark Holbrook and wife Carol of Saline, Michigan, Tim Holbrook and wife Joanna, Debby Stevens and husband Gary, Faith Gavaldon and husband Keith and Hope Francisco and husband Ron all of Traverse City, Michigan; Phillip Holbrook and wife Bethel and Joel Holbrook and wife Rachel all of Delta Junction, Alaska; Ruth Loyer and husband Vic of Palmer, Alaska and Dan Holbrook and wife Pam of Clintonville, Wisconsin; her former-spouse and father of her children, Don Theobald as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She attended public school in Traverse City, Michigan until the eighth grade and was then home schooled. She received a Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Northwestern Michigan College. She worked as an LPN at the Lake Area Clinic for the past ten years, where she was a beloved nurse to many. Grace made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Linn Creek Baptist Church. She loved to worship God with a child-like simplicity of heart. During her fourteen month battle with cancer, she inspired many with her faith in God. Grace had a warm, spunky personality that drew people to her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007, in Linn Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
