Grace Kay Smith (Mansfield) 's Obituary
Grace Kay Smith, daughter of James Benjamin and Earsley Crawford Sweeney, was born June 23, 1941 in Harrison, Arkansas and departed this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2014
in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-three years, six months, and one day.
On September 3, 1973 she was united in marriage to Marshall Smith who preceded her in death on January 1, 2006. Shewas also precededin death by her parents and a brother, James Paul Sweeney.
Grace is survived by her sister, Mary Thompson of Harrison,Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Harrison, Arkansas and graduated from
Harrison High School in the Class of 1959. She moved to Kansas City in 1972 where she began working at Woolworth’s. She was attending the Kansas City Baptist Temple and that is where she met Marshall. Grace and Marshall lived in the Kansas City/Raytown area until Marshall’s passing. About 3 years ago, Grace moved back to her hometown of Harrison to be near her sister and her family.
Grace made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Kansas City Baptist Temple.
In her spare time she liked to read. Grace was a loving sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend.
We celebrate her life and will always remember the good times we had together.
