Hannah Adair's Obituary
Hannah Margaret Adair, daughter of Denzil and Mary Dortha Johnson Bunch, was born March 14, 1927, in Marceline, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, one month, and seven days. On February 26, 1947, she was united in marriage to James Edward Adair, and to this union one daughter and one son were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, on April 4, 2009; a son, Stevan Adair; and a brother, George Albert Bunch. Hannah is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Allen, and her husband, Jim, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Melissa Bennett, Kevin Allen, Aaron Adair, Krystal Owen, Kurtis Allen, Amanda Adair, Lindie Adair, and Alec Adair; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, William Bunch, and his wife, Iva, of the State of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Marceline, Missouri community, and graduated from Marceline High School. After she and James were married, they made their home in several places while Jim was earning his degrees, playing in a band and then teaching. Through the years, Hannah was a devoted homemaker, and a loving wife and mother to her family. After living in Arkansas and then Marceline, Missouri, the family moved to Lebanon, Missouri, in 1966, and Hannah worked as a secretary and clerk for the Tenco Regional Materials Center for twenty years. Hannah had professed her faith in Christ and was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon. She had been a member of the Libra Club and the EO Chapter of P.E.O. for several years. She enjoyed following sports of all kinds and was particularly a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and liked watching them in their activities and sporting events. Hannah was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 24, 2010 in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Mt. Rose Memorial park.Visitation is Friday evening 7-8:30 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the 25/35 Project at First Baptist Church or The Curry Cancer Center. Donations may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
