After marrying, he and Dixie moved to Kansas City, Kansas, and Harley joined the United States Army, serving in Germany. After his release, they moved to St. Louis, briefly, where he worked for McDonnell Douglas before moving to Springfield in January of 1957. Harley worked several places, including Royal McBee, M.D. Pneumatics and Foremost Dairy. He and Dixie also operated The Rent Store in Ozark and Springfield before retiring. Over the years, Harley and his family enjoyed fishing and camping. Harley and Dixie are members of the Second Baptist Church in Springfield. In addition to his parents, Harley was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth D. Blevins and his wife, Loraine. Harley leaves behind his loving wife of nearly sixty-two years, Dixie Blevins, of the home in Springfield; their son, Stacy D. Blevins and his wife, Mary, of Sauk City, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Zoe Blevins who loved her Grandpa dearly; niece, Loretta Mintz and her husband, Dr. Stanley Mintz, of Chatsworth, Georgia, and Lawrence, Kansas; great-niece, Rita Scriven of Chatsworth; and great-nephew, Chris Scriven and his wife, Autumn, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and many other dear family, friends, neighbors and comrades. Harley was a loving and gentle man, a devoted husband and father, and a caring and loyal brother and friend. He will be greatly missed. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
