Harley Ernest Zornes (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Harley Ernest Zornes passed away peacefully at his home on June 13, 2023, at the age of 85. He was born to Charles (Morton) Zornes and Greta Zornes on March 8, 1938, in La Harpe, Kansas.
Harley married Annabelle Freyta on July 29, 1960. They were married until December 6, 2014, when his beloved wife passed away. They were married for 54 years.
Harley services in the United States Navy from 1955-1959. He obtained the rank of Quartermaster 1st Class, and received the nickname, “Bulldog”.
He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing and boating. He enjoyed getting together with friends and family. He also loved listening to “Real Country Music”.
He was preceded in death by his wife Annabelle Zornes, grandson Charles Zornes; siblings Margie Hopkins, Donald Zornes, Ronald Zornes, Gene Zornes and Jack Zornes.
Harley is survived by two daughters and a son: Teresa (Donald) Hendricks, Elizabeth Martinez, Anthony (Deborah) Zornes, 7 grandchildren, Aaron Chavez, Andrew Chavarro, Austin Chavarro, Spencer Martinez, Michelle Piper, Harley Zornes and Anthony Zornes.
Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren: Tristen, Aiden, Averie, Chloe, Jackson, Gunner, Crue, Annabelle and Rachel.
A memorial will be held in Denver, Colorado at a later date. Harley and Annabelle will be inurned together at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Services are under the care and direction of Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
