Harmon Earls' Obituary
Harmon Dean Earls, son of James Albert and Sylvia Asilee Smith Earls, was born, August 31, 1931 in Summerfield, Oklahoma. He departed this life, Saturday, January 13, 2007 in Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, at the age of seventy-five years, four months and thirteen days. On April 4, 1949, he was united in marriage to Ruby Davis and to this union five children were born. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1994. He was united in marriage to Emelie Eden in 1997 and together they shared the last nine years. He was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Harmon Earls II and two sisters, Faye Eads and Donna Suazo. Survivors include his loving wife, Emelie of the home; four daughters, Joy Girdley and husband Brad of Montreal, Missouri, Jan Henson and husband Claye of Stoutland, Missouri, Sheila McDowell and Carmen Reynolds, both of Kansas City, Kansas; step-daughters, Shirley Richardson and husband Mike of Kansas City, Kansas and Lisa Parker and husband Danny of Greenwood, Arkansas; a step-son, Rodney Robinson of Magazine, Arkansas; a sister, Vada Flinn of Gardner, Kansas; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Harmon was raised in the Kansas City, Kansas area and later moved to Montreal, Missouri where he lived for over forty years. In 2006 he and Emelie moved to Kansas City, Kansas. He owned and operated Harmon’s Drive-In and Harmon’s Pepsi House in Montreal for a number of years. He also worked as a boat dock repairman. He was a long-time member of Freedom Church of Christ in Montreal. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He enjoyed music and loved playing his guitar and singing. Harmon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, step-father, step-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will miss him greatly. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2007, in the Freedom Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Freedom Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
