Harold Brownwood (Hartville)'s Obituary
Harold Edward Brownwood, son of Cornelius and Amy Delores Brindle Brownwood, was born March 30, 1928 in Vona, Colorado. He departed this life Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, six months, and twenty-one days.
On October 11, 1949, Harold was united in marriage to Mildred Donnis Hudson, and to this union three sons were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Donnis, of the home; three sons, Neil Brownwood, of Hartville, Missouri, Greg Brownwood and wife Glenda, of North Pole, Alaska, and Mark Brownwood and wife Gena, of Rogersville, Missouri; grandchildren, Cheri Weed, Michael Brownwood, Jon Brownwood, Elise Clement, and Katelyn Jones; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Brownwood and wife Lucille, of Loveland, Colorado; two sisters, Delores Hicks of Berthoud, Colorado, and Esther Anderson and husband Carlen, of Loveland, Colorado; a number of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Harold was born in Colorado and was a graduate of Loveland High School, where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete. He spent time working as a dairy farmer and carpenter for many years. He owned and operated Brownwood and Sons Construction Company for a number of years until his retirement. Following his retirement, Harold and Donnis moved to Missouri to fulfill his lifelong dream of being a cattle rancher.
He had accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and grew up in the Nazarene Church.
Harold loved working on his farm and tending to his livestock. He was a hard worker and set a great example for the generations that follow him.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
