I keep thinking about those summers at the lake — the long boat rides, the peaceful way Roy guided us across the water, and how he never allowed spray sunscreen so he could keep the boat in pristine condition. I didn’t understand that rule at all as a kid, but now I completely do. What felt like a small detail then has become one of those memories that makes me smile. He created so many moments that will stay with me.
