Harold R. McKee (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Harold Ray McKee, son of Elmer Ulysses and Peggy Guthrie McKee, was born May 13, 1940, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, eleven months, and twenty-four days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Harold R. McKee, Jr.; two brothers, Bud and Harley McKee; two sisters, Ruby Wise, and Virginia Lamanno; a brother-in-law, Wayne Johnson; and a nephew, David Parnell.
Harold is survived by a son, Donald McKee, of Windyville, Missouri; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Filiberto Sanchez, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Christina Johnson, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a nephew, Rick Parnell, and his wife, Robin, of Kansas City, Missouri; a niece, Shelly Jet, of Lebanon, Missouri; several great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Springfield, and then moved with his family to Lebanon. He then made his home in the Kansas City, Missouri area, while he was employed as a district manager for a parking facility for a number of years. He then returned to the Bennett Spring area, in the 1980’s. He worked for Connor Express and then for the Missouri Conservation Commission for a few years.
Harold had made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized in the Gasconade River.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting. He also liked raising and riding horses. Something he really enjoyed was watching the fights with his son and brother-in-law, Wayne. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harold was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
