Harold Van Robison (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Harold Van Robison, son of James B. and Ocie Reaves Robison, was born July 23, 1936, in Oxford, Kansas. He departed this life Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in Stonecrest Healthcare, in Viburnum, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, one month, and twenty days.
On July 28, 1956, he was united in marriage to Joanne Louise Salmela, and they shared almost sixty years of happiness and memories before her passing on February 13, 2016.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Stacy Michele Robison.
Harold is survived by a daughter, Patricia Van Abbema, and her husband, Edward, of the State of Alabama; two sons, Steve Robison, and his wife, Deborah, of Nine Miles Falls, Washington, and James Robison, of Stoutland, Missouri; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Kansas, raised in Arkansas, and attended Parma, Missouri schools. As a young man, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country faithfully from 1953 until retiring in 1979. He was an aircraft electronic technician and had earned the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After retiring he and Joanne made their home in Washington while Harold worked as a truck driver, a stock farmer, and was a real estate agent. In the spring of 1991, they moved to Lebanon, Missouri to operate a ranch and spend their retirement years.
Harold had made his profession of faith in Christ and attended First Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) in Lebanon.
He was a lifetime member of the Lebanon V.F.W. Post # 4107 and the Air Force TREA. In his spare time he enjoyed working with and tooling leather, ranching, fishing, and doing carpentry work. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harold was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be remembered as a loving family man, a dedicated and devoted airman, and a good citizen and friend. He will be greatly missed.
