Harold Scott (Seymour)'s Obituary
“I know I love you too”
Harold Scott was born November 3, 1934, in Seymour, Missouri, and departed this earthly life December 27, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, one month and twenty-four days.
Harold was raised in Seymour and a member of the Seymour High School Class of 1952. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served our country from 1952 to 1956. After honorable discharge, he met Joyce Victoria James and eight months later, on March 23, 1957, they were married. Harold and Joyce were dedicated to family and lovingly raised two daughters and a son; they spent nearly 62 happy years devoted to each other. He was a member of Diggins Baptist Church. Harold retired from Ironworkers Local 10 in 1988, then started his own construction company, and fully retired in 2009. In his retirement he enjoyed suppling the Kings Food Pantry by going to area garage sales and picking up what they needed.
He was very devoted to his family and enjoyed special friendships with the fellow Ironworkers.
Each of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in his heart and have many memories to look back on with them.
Harold was greeted in Heaven by his great-grandmother, Lottie Miller; his mother, Ola Scott Hyder; his brothers, Ronald Scott and Jimmy Hyder; and his great-granddaughter, Emilia.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Joyce; daughter, Cristy and Rick Hume, son, Clayton and Kathy Scott, and daughter, Cynthia and Tracy Cole – all of Seymour; eleven grandchildren – Jason, Joshua and wife Sundee, Janae, Dusty and wife Crystal, Joe, LeAnn, Lacey, Brock, Brice, Taryn and husband Luke, and McKenzie and husband Justin; ten great-grandchildren – Sophia, Ralen, Abel, Jude, Shatavia, Madison, Kole, Taylor, Lucas, and Rowan; brother, Dennis Hyder; two sisters, Sandra McNish and Sheryl Hyder; and special sisters-in-law, Carol Scott, Beverly James and Doris McAnulla.
He will be missed so very much by all his family and friends, his shoes cannot be filled.
