Harold Street (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Harold Lee Street, the oldest child of Hugh Homer and Gertha Edith Nunn Street, was born June 3, 1929, in Laclede County, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, September 9, 2010, in Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of eighty-one years, three months, and six days.
He was united in marriage to Rosalie Parks, of Whittier, California, and to this union four children were born.
He later married Linda Fackrell, and to this union one son was born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Harold is survived by his life partner of twenty years, Joanne Rigutto, of Molalla, Oregon; a daughter, Carole Ann Fleetwood, of Whittier, California; four sons, David Street, of Whittier, California, Steven Street, and his wife, Laura, of Norco, California, Glenn Street, of Rialto, California, and Scott Street, and his wife, Adele, of La Habra, California; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six brothers, John Wesley, Loyd Ray, and James Robert Street, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Larry Eugene Street, of Fort Worth, Texas, Donald Wayne Street, of St. Charles, Missouri, and Charles Robert Street, of Kansas City, Missouri; five sisters, Mildred Louise Mannell, of Seattle, Washington, Norma Jean Grendahl, of Brush Prairie, Washington, Thelma Jane Hibbard, of Portland, Oregon, Betty Catherine Evans, and Patricia Ann Mizer, both of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in Laclede County, Missouri, and attended Ivey School. Being the eldest child, he had lots of responsibilities around the farm and helped his mother with the chores and the younger children. In his teens, he went to live with his aunt, Zedith Street Barclay, and her husband, Guy, in California. He graduated from Whittier High School and then enlisted in the United States Army National Guard. After taking his basic training, he began as a career as a fireman in Los Angeles, and was one of the first paramedics for Los Angeles County. He later was the fire inspector for Los Angeles County for a number of years. Upon retiring, he moved to Portland, Oregon to be near some of his family and eventually bought a farm in Molalla, Oregon, where he and Joanne made their home for the last several years.
Harold was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and companion, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he made for his family and friends.
