Harold Wallace's Obituary
Harold Clayton Wallace, son of William Clayton and Reetta Irene Wallace was born on September 17, 1939 in Adair County, Oklahoma. On May 3, 2012 in Glenwood Healthcare he was called home to be with his Lord at the age of seventy-two years, eight months and thirty-two days.
He was raised on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma and enjoyed being outside in God’s creation. He graduated from high school in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. In the summer of 1959, Harold entered the United States National Guard and faithfully served his country for six years. After his service he returned to home where he met the love of his life, Thelma Jean Rippee. The couple was joined in marriage on July 16, 1966. Harold was blessed to be the loving Dad of six wonderful children.
In 1970 the family moved to Seymour to put down their roots. Harold opened “Wallace Machine Shop” in 1977, which he actively operated for thirty years, and is still in business to this day. He was also a certified welder for Paul Mueller Company for fourteen years before retiring in 1986. Harold cared about his community and served two terms as the Northward Alderman in Seymour, as well as an Auxiliary Officer for the Webster County Sheriff’s Office. He was a proud Member of the Hazelwood Masonic Lodge 459 AF & AM. He was a member, along with Thelma, of the Seymour Chapter #144, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a former member of the Abou Bed Adhem Shriners in Springfield, Missouri and of the Seymour Lions Club.
Harold received Christ as his Savior in 2009 and worshiped at Life Church in Ava, Missouri. He often visited the churches that his family attended and was blessed to see them serve and worship our Heavenly Father. He was very proud of his children and the faithful men and women they have become. He was a Faithful Servant-to his Lord, to his family, to his country; Harold knew that you lived your faith by loving others and giving back. You could usually find Harold spending quality time with his family or at the coffee shop with his buddies. Enjoying hunting, fishing and square dancing with Thelma at the Seymour Apple Swingers, he lived a full life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Herman Wallace and a brother-in-law James Ridenhour.
Harold leaves behind a loving wife of forty-five years Thelma Wallace of the home; his sons Darrel “Bub” Wallace and wife Renne of Seymour, Missouri, Gerald Allen Wallace and wife Tina of Hulbert, Oklahoma, Donald Neal Brandon and wife Lori of Lebanon, Missouri, and Lonnie Dale Brandon and wife Vanessa of Nixa, Missouri; his daughters Connie Arlene Anderson and husband Tommie of Hulbert, Oklahoma, and Janice Ann Morelan of Springfield, Missouri; his 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren; his brother Lonnie Wallace and wife Mary Gail of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; his sister Wanda Jones and husband Albert and Clayetta Ridenhour all of Hulbert, Oklahoma; along with many nieces, nephews and a host of other family and dear friends.
