Harold R. Wilsey (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Harold Richard Wilsey, son of Harvey E. and Alice Milbrandt Wilsey, was born July 31, 1932, in Marquette, Michigan. He departed this life Sunday, November 3, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, three months, and twelve days.
On September 16, 1972, he was united in marriage to Alice Joann Jahr, and they shared the last forty-one years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Vicki Lynn Lowrance; and a brother, Harvey Wilsey.
Harold is survived by his wife, Joann, of the home; a daughter, Diana Pohlman, of Rhineland, Missouri; two sons, Jeff Wilsey, of St. Charles, Missouri, and Keith Lewis, of Topeka, Kansas; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ken Wilsey, and James Wilsey, both of Hemlock, Michigan; a sister, Joyce Anaman, of Hemlock, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Michigan, and graduated from Hemlock High School in Hemlock, Michigan. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from January 7, 1953, until December 22, 1954, during the Korean War. He then returned to Michigan, where he was the general manager for the Wickes Lumber Company for several years. He then moved to Topeka, Kansas, and worked for the Central Wholesale Roofing Company. He made his home in Jefferson City and Springfield, Missouri, before retiring to Lebanon, in 1997.
He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post # 4107 of Lebanon. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and liked hunting, fishing, and playing golf. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
