Harriet was born and raised in Iowa and lived there until moving to California with William and their children in 1961. She was a music teacher for 45 years retiring at the age of 65. In the late seventies she moved with her husband to Mansfield, Missouri where she lived the rest of her life.
Harriet made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church where she played the piano and organ for over 30 years. She was always willing to help the church in any way that she could.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, yard work, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and being active in the Senior Citizens Club. In her younger years she loved to ride motorcycles and had made the statement not too long ago that she probably could still ride one.
