Harry Alvin Key (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Harry Alvin Key Jr, son of Harry Alvin, Sr., and Hazel Elizabeth Fry Key, was born, October 7, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life, Thursday evening, July 23, 2020, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, nine months and sixteen days.
On June 23, 1951, in Roanoke Baptist Church, Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Nancy Carolyn Reece and to this union they were blessed with three beautiful daughters. Together they shared wonderful sixty-nine years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Wayne Key, Sr. and his great-granddaughter, Josephine Elizabeth Bennion.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy Key of Camdenton, Missouri; his three daughters, Cherie L. Key and Don E. Monroe of Centennial, Colorado, Lise N. Smith of Camdenton, Missouri and Gina Napier and husband Brad of Eldridge, Missouri; his brother, Michael E. Smith of Hermitage, Missouri; six grandchildren, Marc F. Monroe and wife Jennifer of Boulder, Colorado, Eric N. Monroe and wife Megan of Broomfield, Colorado, Christina R. Smith and John Sash of Conway, Missouri, Clara E. Druck and Jon Bennion of Camdenton, Missouri, Paul M. Druck and significant other Katelyn Morrow of Eldridge, Missouri and Audrey N. Napier Shelton and husband Joseph Shelton of Camdenton, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Harry was raised and attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas areas. He was a skilled and hardworking man and had worked several different jobs thru his lifetime. He retired from Quaker State Oil Company as a salesman before he and Nancy went to work at Silver Dollar City in concessions. They moved to the Eldridge area and called it their forever home.
He enjoyed life and had been a member of several organizations, Boys Scouts, Moose Lodge, CB Clubs in Ohio and Illinois, and Home Owners Association in Antioch, Illinois. Nancy and Harry could often be found Square Dancing and were member of the Hilltoppers Square Dancers, Topeka, Kansas, Pommenaders Square Dancers, Hermitage, Missouri and Ozark Camper Dancers. He was also had bowled in many bowling leagues.
Harry made a profession of faith and had attended church at Roanoke Baptist, Kansas City, Missouri; Ross Baptist Church, Ross, Ohio; Gerster Baptist Church, Gerster, Missouri before becoming a member of Union Southern Baptist Church, Decaturville, Missouri
In his spare time, he could be found, camping, fishing, bowling, boating, water skiing, riding motorcycles, riding a snow mobile and black powder shooting. Harry was gifted with the talent of blessing everyone with a beautiful song. He also looked for to the wonderful fellowship and the meals at church.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
