Harry Shaw's Obituary
Harry Merlyn Shaw, Jr., son of Harry Merlyn Sr. and Isabelle (Johnson) Shaw, was born October 4, 1944, in Adams, Minnesota. He departed this life Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at his home, near Grovespring, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years, two months, and sixteen days. In February of 1969 he was united in marriage to Nancy Distad and to this union two children were born. Later he met Veronica Ziolkowski, and they were then married on November 20, 1992, and together they have spent the last fourteen years. His father preceded him in death. Harry is survived by his wife, Veronica, of the home; his children, Daniel Shaw and his wife, Christine, of Dexter, Minnesota, Deborah McDougald and her husband, Kenny, of North Hollywood California, Whitney Shaw, of Ozark, Missouri, Kelly Shaw, of the home, Fraley Smith, of Shreveport, Louisiana, Heidi Hughes, of Boston, Massachusetts, and Cody Hughes, of the home; six grandchildren, Paul, Thomas, and Erik Shaw, ReaShawn, Tyler Elizabeth, and Isaac Smith; his mother, Isabelle Shaw, of Adams, Minnesota; a brother, John Shaw, of Dexter, Minnesota; two sisters, Margaret Penning, of Pine Island, Minnesota, and Sandra Henniger, of Elma, Washington; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Adams, Minnesota. After graduation he entered the United States Navy, and served his country faithfully for a short time until being medically discharged. He then returned to Adams, where he farmed and drove a school bus for many years. In the fall of 1989 he moved to Wright County, Missouri. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church, in Minnesota. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and Missouri Pet Breeders Association. In his spare time he was an avid reader and enjoyed researching genealogy. He loved visiting and spending time with his family and friends. He was very fond of his dogs and birds and loved the farm. Harry was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2006, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, Lebanon. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.
