Harry F. Strickland (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Harry Frances Strickland, son of Harry Jackson and Anne Knapp Strickland, was born April 27, 1959, in Burlington, Iowa. He departed this life Tuesday, April 5, 2016, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-six years, eleven months, and eight days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Harriet, Carol, and Patti.
Harry is survived by a son, Kristopher Strickland, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Misty Porter, and her husband, Randy, of West Valley, Utah; six brothers, Jerry, Ron, Ernie, Denzil, Marty, and Reese Strickland; a sister, Angel Akers; an aunt, Marie Hill; a number of nieces and nephews; several cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Iowa and was raised in Iowa, Missouri, and Texas. He then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked as a truck driver for a charitable organization for a number of years. He and Kristopher had made their home in Lebanon, Missouri for the last few years.
Harry was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah. He possessed a generous heart and was always willing to help others.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and played on a minor league team for a few years. He also liked playing various types of games. His family was very important to him and he liked having family gatherings.
Harry was a loving father, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
