Hayden Dean's Obituary
Hayden Louis Dean, son of Willard and Martha Miller Dean, was born December 29, 1920, in Bowling Green, Ohio. He departed this life Thursday, June 11, 2009, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, five months, and twelve days. On December 29, 1945, he was united in marriage to Virginia May Smith, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Johnny Deckard; five brothers; and one sister. Hayden is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Virginia May, of the home; two daughters, Glenda Dillon, and her husband, Dale, of Park Hills, Missouri, and Martha Deckard, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Floyd Dean, and his wife, Linda, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Fred Dean, of Bradner, Ohio; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence, Elmer, Eugene, and Emil Dean, all of the State of Ohio; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Ohio, and then served his country faithfully in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at Dean Brothers Block and Tile Company in Ohio for several years. After he and Virginia were married, they made their home in Ohio and lovingly began raising their family. Later, the family moved to Missouri and made their home in the Grovespring community. In addition to raising Registered Duroc Hogs on his farm, Hayden also worked as a carpenter and was a Master cabinetmaker. Hayden made his profession of faith in Christ as a young man, and established a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and caring for his farm animals. His family was important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Hayden was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We remember his life and join his family in this celebration of his Homegoing to Heaven. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday June 16, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in the Mt. Rose Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm until time of service under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
