Hazel Bromberek's Obituary
Hazel Lucille Bromberek, daughter of Noah E. and Bessie L. Whitten Carr, was born September 4, 1924, in Savannah, Tennessee. She departed this life Friday, May 8, 2009, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, eight months, and four days. On February 18, 1958, she was united in marriage to Dan Bromberek. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan, in January of 1985; a son, Dennis Nelson, Sr.; two brothers, Edward and James Carr; and an infant sister. Hazel is survived by a daughter, Loridan Moore, and her husband, Ernie, of Lebanon, Missouri, and their children, Daniel, Elizabeth, and Gabrielle; two sons, Michael Miller, of Medford, Wisconsin, and Chuck Miller, of Bolingbrook, Illinois; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She born in Tennessee, and then moved with her parents, who were sharecroppers, to Jonesboro, Arkansas when she was an infant. Later, Hazel moved to Chicago, Illinois for several years before coming to Lebanon in 1975. Through the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her family. Hazel possessed a deep faith in God and held tightly to that throughout her life. In her spare time she enjoyed caring for her dogs and shopping, especially for shoes. She also liked spending the winters in Florida and enjoying the sunshine. Her family was important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday May 12, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park. Visitation is Monday evening 6-8:00 pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memroial has been established to the Alzheimers Foundation and donations may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
