Hazel Ilene Burton (Hartville)'s Obituary
Hazel Ilene Hodge Burton, daughter of Eli Hugh and Myrtle Thurman Hodge, was born November 28, 1918 in Leachville, Arkansas and departed the life on March 27, 2014 in Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri at the age of ninety-five years, three months and twenty-nine days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Burton; a daughter, Joy Gudel two brothers, three sisters and a son-in-law, Walter Dodd. Hazel is survived by a son, Roger Hoskins and his wife Georgiena of Hartville, Missouri; two daughters, Marietta Dodd of Salinas, California and Gloria Rolandi and her husband David of Hartville, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Arkansas and moved to Sikeston with her family in her early 20’s. In 1944, she moved to California with her husband and lived there until moving to Hartville, Missouri in 1969 where she lived the rest of her life. Hazel had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Hartville Assembly of God Church. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, quilting and raising calves. Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and we will always cherish the many wonderful times we have had with her.
