Hazel Mary Caudle (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Hazel Mary Caudle, age ninety-three, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Homer Parker and Eva McBride Parker on August 16, 1930 in Nebraska.
Her family soon moved to the Lebanon area where she completed her schooling. On January 4, 1952, she was united in marriage to James Lowell Crain. He passed away December 11, 1963. On June 25, 1965, she married Vernon Caudle. He passed away October 30, 2002.
Hazel was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend. She was a good listener and gave good sound advice when needed. She was someone you could count on.
She was saved at a young age and over the years was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, then a member of First Baptist Church for several years, and most recently, a member of Second Freewill Baptist Church. She loved God with all her heart and looked forward to spending eternity in Heaven. In addition to being active in church, she frequently hosted Bible Study groups in her home.
Hazel was a smart lady and enjoyed her career as a lab tech. Although she only completed the eighth grade, that didn’t stop her from learning a career that spanned some fifty-one years as a lab tech at Wallace Hospital, Breech Medical Center and then Mercy Hospital, Lebanon.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Eva Parker; her husbands, James Crain and Vernon Caudle; three brothers, Ray, Glen and Ivan Parker; and a sister, Louis Douglas.
She is survived by her son, James Crain and his wife Marilyn of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Courtney Lisnock and her husband Nick of Nixa, Missouri, Logan Crain and his wife Kellie of Springfield, Missouri and Heather Rice and her husband Cory of Chicago, Illinois; six great-grandchildren, Bronson, Rowan, Taylin, Parker, Sawyer and Elaina; and other relatives and many friends.
Hazel enjoyed gardening and looking at pictures. She loved the farm life and spending time outdoors.
Her life rotated around her family, both immediate and extended family. She was so proud of all of them and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.
Hazel was a woman of deep faith, finding solace and strength in her spiritual journey. Her life was a testament to the values of love, compassion, and kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services for Hazel Caudle will be Friday, January 19, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 5 - 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Shaddy Cemetery. A memorial to Shaddy Cemetery or Antioch Cemetery has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
