Hazel Louise Linneberger (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Hazel Louise Linneberger, daughter of Norvin and Jayma Prock Scott, was born October 7, 1946, in Boise, Idaho. She departed this life Saturday, October 12, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, and five days.
On September 3, 2005, she was united in marriage to Edward J. Linneberger, and they shared the last fourteen years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Linda Coffey.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Edward, of the home; two daughters, Deborah Fortune, of Harrison, Arkansas, and Robin Floodman, of Oskaloosa, Kansas; two sons, Shannon White, and his wife, Pam, of Waco, Texas, and Doug Linneberger, of Yantis, Texas; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Scott, of Thomasville, North Carolina; three sisters, Phyllis Cook, of Norman, Oklahoma, Helen Greer, of Washington Terrace, Utah, and Norma Springer, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Wright County, Missouri, close to Lebanon, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1964. She then attended Draughn’s Business College before moving to Topeka, Kansas. She worked in the License Bureau for a time and then was employed by Bell Telephone and AT&T in several states. She was a sales supervisor for most of her thirty-three year career and lived most of the time in Texas. She retired in 2002 and moved back to Lebanon in 2012. After she and Edward were married, they made their home near Lebanon.
She was an active member of the Lebanon V.F.W. Post # 4107 Auxiliary and was a Post President and District President. She served as the President of the State of Missouri V.F.W. Auxiliary from 2016 to 2017.
Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a very caring friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
A memorial has been established to the VFW Auxiliary.
