Helen F. Cornelison (Seymour)'s Obituary
Helen Fern Cornelison daughter of Henry Elwynn and Hazel Maude Fewin Johnson, was born June 20, 1946, and departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, one month, and eleven days.
On June 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to Jerry Lynn Cornelison and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandson, Evan Michael Cornelison, two brothers, C.H. Johnson and Glen Johnson.
Helen is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the home; three sons, Jeffrey Lynn Cornelison and wife, Michelle, of Rogersville, Thomas Elwynn Cornelison of Seymour and Douglas Alan Cornelison of Springfield; daughter, Cynthia Rains and husband, Shannon, of Springfield; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Webster County and lived most her life in the Seymour area where she graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1964. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and had also worked at H.D. Lee and Kennemer Realty.
Helen had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church.
In her spare time, she liked to read and cook. She loved her family dearly and spending time with them on birthdays and holidays were always special times.
Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the wonderful times we had together.
