Helen Hammond (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Helen Sue Hammond, daughter of Less and Mary Ellen Folsom Crainshaw, was born, February 20, 1939 in Climax Springs, Missouri. She departed this life, on her birthday, February 20, 2015, in her home, Climax Springs, Missouri at the age of seventy-six years.
On December 21, 1957 in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Fred Junior Hammond and to this union four children were born. Together they shared forty-one years of marriage until his passing on July 7, 1999.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anna Lois Crainshaw. Survivors include her daughter, Doris Burkhamer of Climax Springs, Missouri; three sons, Mark Hammond and wife Karen, Frederick Hammond and David Hammond all of Climax Springs, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrell Crainshaw and wife Doris of Climax Springs, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Sue was a life-long resident of Climax Springs, Missouri.
She had always lived on a farm and enjoyed the animals and the farm life. She was a welder for Modine in Camdenton for many years and retired there. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, making quilts, crocheting and knitting. She loved her animals and taking care of them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
Sue had great faith in God and served him until the day He took her by the hand and led her home. She wanted everyone to go to Heaven so that we might all be reunited one day.
The Family will receive friends prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the family and left at the funeral home.
