Helen J. Sherertz's Obituary
Helen Josephine Sherertz, daughter of George Newton and Elsie Irene (Cornelison) Townlian, was born August 22, 1917, near Seymour, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in her residence near Seymour, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, four months, and ten days. In 1935, Helen was united in marriage to Harold V. Sherertz, and to this union two sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; one son, Bobby Sherertz, and his wife Wilmetta; one brother, Glen Townlian; and an infant brother, Emery Townlian. Helen is survived by one son, Jimmy Sherertz, of the home; two grandchildren, Cindy McEntire and her husband, Roger, of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Greg Sherertz and his wife, Jannine, of Springfield, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Tony and Ashleigh Sherertz, and Justin and Kim McEntire; four great-great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Olivia, Brendan, and Jackson; two sisters, Marie Denney, of Elma, Washington, and Hazel Longwith, of Raymond, Washington; as well as several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Webster County. After she and Harold were married, they made their home on a farm and lovingly raised their two children. Helen was of the Baptist faith, and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing, as well as spending time with her family and friends. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories she has created for her family a Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
