Helen Pieper's Obituary
Helen Mae Pieper, daughter of James and Elizabeth (Bradley) Burcham, was born December 19, 1929 in Elgin, Illinois. She departed this life Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Hartville Care Center, in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, five months, and one day.
On March 18, 1950 she was united in marriage to Donald Frank Pieper and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, on June 13, 1999; her parents; a grandson, Eric Smallwood, a sister, Betty; a brother, Edwin Burcham; a niece, who was like a daughter, Kathy Kellner.
Helen is survived by a daughter, Debby Smallwood, and her husband, Mark, of Hartville, Missouri; two sons, Donnie Pieper, and his wife, Jane, of St. Charles, Illinois, and Dennis Pieper, and his wife, Eliska, of South Elgin, Illinois; two granddaughters, Amy Gentile, and her friend, Laron Arnall, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Kelsy Pieper; three great-granddaughters, Sydni Gentile, Skye Gentile, and Aubrey Pieper; a great-grandson, Nicholas Greene; a sister, Dorothy Hanson, of Elgin, Illinois; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as host of other relatives and many friends, including friends who were very special, Ike and Judy Arnall and their family.
She was born and raised in the Elgin and St. Charles area in Illinois, where she attended school. She remained in Illinois until four years ago when she moved to Hartville, Missouri.
Helen attended Hartville First Baptist Church.
She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family and spending time with them. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing with family, and gardening.
Helen was a kind person with a big heart. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories she has created for her family and dear friends.
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 23, 2009 in the Hartville First Baptist Church. Memorials have been established to Hartville Care Center Resident Fund or Community Hospice and may be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hartville, Missouri 65667.
